The last two weeks were very busy for the band. We played PJ's just last night, recorded a radio show, and released a new song. Koji has a 2nd child on its way that is due any day now. He had to miss our last two outings. I missed his bass a lot, especially last night. I think being a band is being willing to prove yourselves as survivors, playing shows any way, by any means. Sometimes we can't all make the shows. It it painful to be less than perfect though. So.... this is why the band is going to be rehearsing harder and more intense than ever before to get up to the standards of quality that I imagine in my mind. I consider the show last night to be a huge failure on my part, for reasons I would probably be better off not saying!!!!!!! Hello people. Today has been like many other days in the past, I have experienced something that is very common. People on craigslist posting misleading or ripp off ads for musical instruments! Check this next posting out: Fender Stratocaster with Amp, Case, and Strap - $475 (Carleton) 475 dollars. Now there really isn't anyway this could be that great of deal, even if it was what it said it was. A  used Fender strat made in mexico will usually cost between 200-300 dollars used, but that doesn't mean that people don't try to get more for them, which I will elaborate on later! Hello people, today I decided to get an icecream cone at Mcdonalds. I got one dipped in chocolate for 1.39. It tasted really good, but I have a huge problem with something. I have had Mc Donald's Ice Cream cones in 3 different states where my family has lived, South Carolina, Wisconsin, and Michigan. I remember getting really big icecream cones, not all the time but they never made them small. Now whenever I get one, it doesn't matter where, they are always TOO SMALL! I am not an idoit, I know they have a little picture of what the cone size is supposed to be be, they have had that for years, and most of the time it was disregarded. It has been a while since the band has played, so I am looking forward to the party I am having on July 26th with two other bands, Star Destroyer and Avante Garden. I tried to book a show at Woodruffs the same day, but they thought their pathetic Karaoke night was more important. Karaoke is for losers! Well people, it looks like I was right about getting that job. I am to start training tonight. Sure enough, I have to wear tacky clothes. The good news is, I did get a chance to do some shopping this weekend, bought my yearly pair of jeans and a new shirt. 100 percent cotton shirt get pretty hot in the summer though. Hello people! I notice the weather has been very hot lately. I have mostly been staying inside. I will have to cut grass tomorrow. Hey people, it might interest you to know, that today we are expecting record breaking temperatures of 94 degrees! Well when I heard that, it made me realize that today was the perfect day for an icy treat. At Burger King they have $1 Frappes! Just make sure you ask for a small. I accidentally ordered a large one, and that cost 2.10. Now I feel sick. The small only has 410 calories, the large has about 600. There are two flavors, mocha, and caramel. Hey people... Well my clothes are tied up in the laundry at this moment, so this is a good time to update the blog. No need for dirty visuals.... Hello people. This week I have been doing some guitar experimenting. I bought new strings for my seafoam green strat, but then I broke some on my purple strat, so I had to use a string from that pack to play a show this Saturday. The show went allright. I didn't publicize it, because it was in kind of a far place to drive, Allen Park. The show went a-ok. I appreciate the bands who cheered for us, and the people that were there. It was cool. Well anyways, back to my guitar. I unfortunately broke a bass guitar string the other day, I tried to mend it, but the string was to short to put back on. So I decided to instead see it I could get it onto my seafoam green strat. It actually did! It is the normal d bass string, so it is a pretty heavy gauge for an electric six string. I put it on there, then over time, I gradually put the rest of the stings I had in the pack. I think the lightest string on the guitar is a 12/13. Who knows? Well this week I have been spending a lot of time refinishing my 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior. It belonged to my grandfather, who was a traveling musician. It could really use some updating since it still has its original worn finish. I want to turn it into an instrument that truly reflects me!  I spent about 6 hours yesterday sanding the instrument by hand. I also routed a compartment for a neck pickup and routed two extra holes for one additional volume knob, and one additional tone knob. Then I added a hole for the toggle switch I am going to install. I am getting rid of the p-90, and I am going to replace them with dimarzio hyper distortion pickups. This sure has been a lot of work so far!  What you see here is what it looks like now, it took six hours to come to this. Well people, I am very proud of myself today. I didn't spend any money today even though I got paid, and I cleaned my room, and my office as well! I found two microphone cables, they still smell brand new, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they work!
