What's the deal with the doublneck? you overindulgent fool

Image
We aren't playing with a bass player.... what's all this doubleneck stuff? If you have had these thoughts and are wondering why my partner Pete and I aren't playing with a 3rd person, its simple: no one is willing to commit! I have tried to be good natured about it, but after a while you start adopting the world view that people are just full of shit, and about 80 percent of people with guitars out there have no right to call themselves musicians. They aren't willing to work for it! For so many years, finding that 3rd person kept me from playing the way I wanted to play, but this time around I am working around it. There are 3 basic moves that I have been trying to master with this double neck. 1. The right finger pumps the bass, left hand "legatos" the 6 string electric guitar. This means I am trying to get enough sustain to play off of the forces from of my left hand. 2. The unison tap/hammer on-- this means that each hand is playing the same thing t

My Review of the Schecter Hellcat VI--- Plus Video!

Image
Hello people, Recently I was at a guitar store and I came across the Schecter Hellcat VI on sale. The guitar is what some people refer to as a baritone guitar. The bottom four strings are tuned like a bass, but the guitar has an extra b and e string. The tuning is exactly like a normal 6 string guitar, except an octave down. This guitar is different from a 6 string bass because it uses a shorter scale and uses lighter strings. The guitar has 3 single coil Duncan designed pickups and each pickup has its own on/off switch. I use these to control how much of a bass or treble sound I want. The dilema I encountered when using this guitar was should I use a guitar amp, or bass amp? I thought it sounded great through my Behringer bass rig, which uses an 8x10 bass cab. This setup was good for really percussive slap-style playing. The bass sounded crappy through my vintage Fender Super 6 amp, it was just too thin sounding, and I didn't feel comfortable running low bass notes through a

PART TWO: Rude musician texts--- same guy!

Hello people! Well that guy from yesterday just wouldn't let it go! He kept on texting me all through the night when I was having band practice until my phone died. I would write him a few words response, check my phone 30 minutes later and find text after text from this guy! I put spaces between each text. Here is the conversation: ME: I just gave you some free publicity on my blog...You loser! GUY ONLINE: Sweet link us We're super stoked to see your oversensitive post I saw it You highly edited it (LIE--- it's word for word) That's the exaggerated victim speak You censored us man Motor City guitar is way better than any guitar center Super whiney I'm embarrassed for the men your age and I'm 32 ME: Im younger than you GUY ONLINE: That explains the thin Millennial skin ME: Why don't we just fight? GUY ONLINE: Because you're a whiney pussy that would rather write a bitchy blog post putting others on

Brace yourself for one of the most rude conversations I have ever had with another "musician"!

Hello my dear audience! I recently acquired a surplus of free time, which I am using to practice alone in my house--and attempt to play in bands!  I sure have been practicing a lot lately! I have been playing the drums, the guitar, the banjo, the bass, you name it! If it was ever on sale at Guitar Center I probably have 2 of them! Well, I have been somewhat depressed at the lack of circle of musicians I have, so I ventured into the craigslist world of musician classified ads to find some people to play for or with. I had a man/woman music duo, (who are also dating) invite me out for a drink at a bar tonight or tomorrow in downtown detroit after responding to their ad. I wanted to go, but I am just not up to driving my 40 year old car without power brakes into some unfamiliar territory (the transmission on the Scion xb is fried)--- I have been driving my Corvette now exclusively. Here's the entirety of the conversation that took place. ME: Thank you for the invitations!
