Melody Maker for Sale!


Hello people, this is just a friendly reminder that the show with Hit Society is Saturday, February 11th at the I-rock in Detroit.

Unfortunatley, that cold I mentioned a couple blogs back, almost disappeared, but then came back on stronger than ever! So I am very sick right now. That didn't stop me from recording a couple new songs today. Sometimes working on stuff can take your mind off being sick.

I have been thinking about things a lot lately, and I think it might be time to say goodbye to the YMCA, I am thinking about quitting. I want to be free so I can visit my friends in New York. I am at odds right now. I feel like Michigan is the worst environment for creative types like myself. Well, maybe not ALL of Michigan, but rural Michigan. Yes I am thinking about leaving. If you know anyone in the market for a vintage Gibson Melody Maker, let me know. I'll give a hell of a deal on it because I need some funds to get out of here!

Some people may be aware that a group I perform in, the Ill Itches, will be having a record release this Friday at the Marble bar here in Detroit. The band has done several interviews where the interviewer emails the band questions and we each answer them. In one such interview, all of my answers were omitted, and I heard from the other band members the music journalist got mad because I didn't take the interview seriously enough. That time I bought a Guitar for $1 at Guitar Center

When I had just graduated high school, I was still working my job at a grocery store. I made enough money to go guitar shopping. I used to drive from rural Lenawee county to Toledo OH to get to Guitar Center. One day I heard a radio ad for a Guitar Center Labor Day Sale on September 5th, 2005. At this point in my life, Guitar Center was something I had only recently discovered. This ad was extra special... the loud demanding voice on the radio ad claimed Guitar Center was going to be selling guitars for just $1! The night before the sale, I drove down to the Guitar Center and arrived at about 10:30 pm. I began waiting at the front door of the business. I remember texting some of my friends from the grocery store I worked at, they ended up joining me about an hour later. Then, two other small town guys that went to my high school showed up randomly.
