the magic word

Hello people,

Well tomorrow is the show with HIT SOCIETY at the 8 ball tomrrow. I am very much looking forward to it! We had practice on Sunday, and it sounded pretty dang good. I can't wait to play with Koji and Tom (the cool drummer guy)!

The show is also going to be filmed, so I have to be on my best behavior. I practiced a ton this week. Everyone knows that practice is the magic word! No, the magic word isn't please, it is practice. 

I am now struggling to be a non-smoker. I haven't smoked since Monday! Holy crap. Sometimes it is very hard for me, but once the initial craving wears off, I am pretty good. I sure won't miss smelling like cigarrettes. I hope I can keep this up. This is the longest I have gone in 2 years without smoking! 

I have to admit, yesterday when I watched this video it made me want to smoke!


Little Richard obviously knows, the secret. The secret magic word is practice.

Some people may be aware that a group I perform in, the Ill Itches, will be having a record release this Friday at the Marble bar here in Detroit. The band has done several interviews where the interviewer emails the band questions and we each answer them. That time I bought a Guitar for $1 at Guitar Center

When I had just graduated high school, I was still working my job at a grocery store. I made enough money to go guitar shopping. I used to drive from rural Lenawee county to Toledo OH to get to Guitar Center. One day I heard a radio ad for a Guitar Center Labor Day Sale on September 5th, 2005. At this point in my life, Guitar Center was something I had only recently discovered. This ad was extra special... the loud demanding voice on the radio ad claimed Guitar Center was going to be selling guitars for just $1! The night before the sale, I drove down to the Guitar Center and arrived at about 10:30 pm. I began waiting at the front door of the business. I remember texting some of my friends from the grocery store I worked at, they ended up joining me about an hour later. Then, two other small town guys that went to my high school showed up randomly.
