Metrotimes, clean up your act or Get out of Guitar Center!

Hello people,

Many of my friends know I am a loyal Guitar Center customer. The last time I was in there, I picked up a copy of the Detroit Metrotimes. I have enjoyed reading that paper for the music articles and to see stories on local bands since my early community college days. It had been a couple years since I have really read anything from it, except for when a band I am in happens to have press in it.

Anyways, the reason I am bringing the paper up, is because I feel like the ads for sex shops and massagers have gotten over the top. I am not really offended by any of it, honestly. I actually cut out one of the adult movie store ads that had a picture of a porno that advertised a "Transexual Gangbang". I was taking it around at work today seeing which one of my co-workers would think it was cool. I had at least one guy think it was cool. I just thought it was so funny that they would have something like that in a free paper that any little kid could pick up for free. The ad also had the phrase "hardcore fucking". Also, I enjoyed reading the sex column for a good laugh!




 I think all this stuff is funny, but I don't think Guitar Center should have that distributed there. I think the Metrotimes should clean up its act if it really wants Guitar Center to distribute it. Having these at a bar is different, but I think Guitar Center should have some higher standards. Some of the stuff in the magazine, I think I could go to jail for if I gave it to little kids. I think you people out there, should call all of the Detroit Guitar Centers and tell them to remove them. I would do it, but I don't want to be known as the weirdo who got the paper banned, since I go there so much. Here is the number of the location I know has it:

Well, I am just putting this out there. One of two things might happen:

1.Guitar Center will remove the paper and the Metrotimes will lose some of its distribution

2. the Metrotimes will clean up its act.

Or, a good compromise would be if they put the paper behind the counter.

One more thing people. Let me be clear, I am a pretty perverted person with rather loose morals when it cums to a lot of this stuff! I like to make up nasty words to songs all the time when I am at work. I take objects I find on the dock and use them a comic exstension of my penis on a daily basis. I also dry hump, curse, and make many lewd jestures when I am around other people of my same sex and age. I just think that standards should be a little higher for a paper that anyone can get at a family friendly place like Guitar Center!

Guitar Center, I love you so  much. You should really take the moral highground and get a smutty paper out of your stores if you expect minors to go there!

That time I bought a Guitar for $1 at Guitar Center

When I had just graduated high school, I was still working my job at a grocery store. I made enough money to go guitar shopping. I used to drive from rural Lenawee county to Toledo OH to get to Guitar Center. One day I heard a radio ad for a Guitar Center Labor Day Sale on September 5th, 2005. At this point in my life, Guitar Center was something I had only recently discovered. This ad was extra special... the loud demanding voice on the radio ad claimed Guitar Center was going to be selling guitars for just $1! The night before the sale, I drove down to the Guitar Center and arrived at about 10:30 pm. I began waiting at the front door of the business.
